Digital Rip Off Britain

So our beloved Prime Minister Mr. Brown and his band of idiots, I mean cabinet have decided they would join the rest of the world in getting our country on-line by 2017. The fact is, the people who already pay more for housing, council tax etc are now having to pay for the new rural areas to get it by adding a 50p per month broadband tax!
Correct me if I am wrong but when BT was born from the fires of the earth they were to deliver connectivity in the form of telephone lines to everyone, it was part of their duty, now here we are with a few technical advances and they are not prepared to keep their end of the bargain. Personally I think that if BT, Virgin or whoever want to dominate broadband they should invest in the installation of the cables and technology not tax us poor sods so they can then get new business from it once it’s installed! I wonder if when it is installed we are going to get a tax break from the revenue it creates for the telecoms companies and ISP’s? I bet we don’t!
Yet again, proof that the House of Commons make noise to take away from the fact that the country is screwed!
