How Efficient is your IT Support

How efficient is your IT Support Provider?

Efficient IT Support

One of the problems with our busy lives is that we never really seem to step back from the workplace fire and take stock. For example, think about the company where you work. Does the IT in the firm run correctly for enough of the time that you consider it to be well supported or, more likely, are there several recurrent problems (maybe just niggles!) that never seem to be sorted to your satisfaction.
Then there are the logistics. How easy is it to contact the Support Desk? Can you simply email them or ring them, or do you have to go through a convoluted telephone system before ending up in the company of an operative who does not understand you, much less the problem.
If the issue does not get dealt with there and then, do you get regular communication as to the progress of the issue? Are you kept satisfied that effort is being made to rectify within a reasonable period of time?
These issues are typical of those that people have to deal with on a daily basis, and their total removal would result in increased productivity (good for the management) along with decreased frustration (good for the management AND staff).
If it sounds simple, it’s because it is. Sort out your IT Support and you sort out a large proportion of the problems you encounter in your normal working life!
